  1. This drawer contains programs only suitable for use on
  2. Amigas with at least 1M of RAM. Such users should use
  3. these versions in preference to those on disk 1, by
  4. copying them over them onto a *backup* copy of disk 1.
  5.  
  6. Users with less than 1M of RAM should not be tempted into
  7. trying these versions of the programs; believe us, they
  8. will not work.

  10. HB.Compiler
  11. ===========
  12. This is identical in use to that on disk 1 except that
  13. it permits the creation of truly stand-alone files
  14. (cf. page 303). This version can be distinguished
  15. from the other version by its size (167k), as opposed
  16. to 97k or so.
  17.  
  18. HiSoft BASIC
  19. ============
  20. This is an extended version of the editor which has the
  21. following additional features:
  22.  
  23. 1. Marked blocks are displayed highlighted.
  24.  
  25. 2. The behaviour of the cursor at the ends of a line can
  26. be changed, see End of Line under Preferences. It is
  27. difficult to explain, just try it and see.
  28.  
  29. 3. There is a Show Tokens option under Preferences which
  30. automatically upper-cases BASIC tokens when lines are
  31. typed in or text files loaded, in a similar way to the
  32. AmigaBASIC interpreter. When enabled you may notice a
  33. slight delay after loading text files.

  35. This version of the editor can be distinguished by the
  36. '+' sign after the release number shown in the Help
  37. requester.
